Aisle be there: Fall 2025 looks from Caro Editions, Givenchy, Caroline Hu, Christian Dior, and Róisín Pierce.
In fashion, bridal season aligns with the advent of spring, when birds start chirping and daffodils begin showing their sunny faces. It’s now that we take a semi-annual look through the recent ready-to-wear shows to cull designs that have double-duty potential—meaning that they could be worn down the aisle, or at a City Hall wedding, or changed into for an unforgettable evening on the dance floor.
While the popularity of the poufy princess dress never wanes, this edit includes a variety of options, such as fluffy pieces for would-be snow queens and flowy jersey frocks for Renaissance brides. Bianca Jagger made the wedding skirt suit a thing in 1971, the fall 2025 collections bring convincing pantsuit options as well. When designers wanted to conjure romance this season, most turned not to tulle, but to lace with its peek-a-boo attributes. And in keeping with the wider culture’s conservative mood, naked dresses are a little less Lady Godiva than they have been in recent history.
