Nothing kicks off the New Year quite like the start of awards season—and the first of the many glamorous ceremonies is, of course, the 2025 Golden Globes. This year’s lineup of nominees was stacked with the binge-able films and series that dominated our screens (and social media memes) and were loved most by the voting body of 334 journalists.
Selena Gomez (up for best actress in a comedy/musical for Emilia Pérez), Timothée Chalamet (nominated for his performance as 19-year-old Bob Dylan in A Complete Unknown), Zendaya (for both Dune and Challengers), Ariana Grande (for Wicked), and Angelina Jolie were among the many who walked the red carpet. But it’s after the red carpet is when things really get interesting.
Hosted by comedian Nikki Glaser, the ceremony kicked off at The Beverly Hilton with a sit-down dinner by chef Nobu Matsuhisa paired with plenty of Moët & Chandon bottled bubbly at each rounded dinner table. (Per Globes tradition, castmates are sat together.) Glaser, who had the room grinning with her cheeky comedy, made jabs at several of the assembled stars—but it was all in good fun. Benny Blanco, who sat next to his new fiancé Gomez, was the subject of Glaser’s comedy, as was Chalamet’s mustache. And sitting next to Chalamet for the second year in a row was none other than Kylie Jenner.
Elsewhere in the room, the Wicked table got a visit from Ayo Edebiri while Jolie (who arrived hand in hand with daughter Zahara) was seen chatting with Jesse Eisenberg. More of the night’s best moments, below.
