An Exclusive Look Inside the 2025 Met Gala

While the first Monday in May always stirs up intrigue, anticipation for the 2025 Met Gala—themed “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” a sartorial homage to the Black dandy—was especially high. Alas, after months of breathlessly waiting to see who would attend and what everyone would wear, the event unfolded in stunning fashion at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Co-chairs Colman Domingo, Lewis Hamilton, A$AP Rocky, and Pharrell Williams all embodied dandyism in custom attire, presiding over an event attended by everyone from Spike Lee and Diana Ross to André 3000 and Halle Berry.

Inside the Metropolitan Museum of Art, artist Cy Gavin drew inspiration from the narcissus flower, which informed the centerpiece, and was also projected onto the ceiling of the Temple of Dendur during dinner at the 2025 Met Gala.

Set designer Derek McLane reinterpreted the painting as the centerpiece—which was made up of over 7,000 suspended flowers, all put together by event planner Raúl Àvila. “It’s spectacular,” Àvila says of this year’s design.
