It’s all about the details at the 2025 Met Gala, especially for livestream cohost Ego Nwodim. The Saturday Night Live star donned a special tribute to the late Black fashion designer Patrick Kelly with multicolored button nail decals and matching colored buttons on her sleeves.
Kelly was known for his fun and playful motifs such has dolls, hearts, and buttons; he often used humor to reframe more serious topics, especially racism, and played with historical fashion references to make an even bolder statement with his designs.
Nwodim’s reference to Kelly is the perfect finishing touch to the rest of her look. She sported a black Christopher John Rogers suit set with the multicolored buttons popping bright against the sleeves, and she styled her hair in a Thom Browne–like geometric updo and kept her makeup minimal with a glossy natural lip, subtle smoky eye, and long lashes.
