Last night at the 2025 Met Gala, we saw the possibility of a future where Future is blond and chopped.
The “Mask Off” singer has been teasing a blonder summer ’do on his Instagram for a few months now, but the debut of some natural short hair was definitely unexpected, and a switch-up for his fans who know him best for his signature long dreadlocks.
To go with his new hairstyle, Future slipped on a custom fit via Pharrell Williams and Louis Vuitton. To accompany his laidback and easygoing new hairstyle, he went with a more casual than some of the sleek tailoring and sculptural moments we saw on the steps of the Met, with a gray quarter zip set with a tie layered underneath.

Experiments in hair were heralded across the evening. ’40s-era pin curls and pompadours mingled with ’20s-appropriate kiss curls and finger waves: Gigi Hadid coiffed her curl, while Lana Del Rey wore her’s delicated pinned back, and Angela Bassett teased her afro as the base for her brilliantly tall hat. Others, like Doechii, Tracee Ellis Ross, Zoe Kravitz, Zendaya, and Alicia Keys, celebrated an unapologetic Blackness with their braided hair, bringing true beauty to the “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” theme.
And just like Future, image architect Law Roach chose the Meta Gala 2025 as the moment to give the bleach a try, forgoing his own signature long tresses for the night for a cropped, flippy blonde style.
