Fashion works in mysterious ways. For evidence, look no further than the 2025 Met Gala, where celebrities provided unexpected but delightfully entertaining twinning looks that had eagle-eyed fans wondering how exactly such coincidences can occur. See, as one example, Zendaya in Louis Vuitton and Anna Sawai in Christian Dior, both channeling a Bianca Jagger kind of elegance in white suits.

See also Miley Cyrus and Kim Kardashian, matching in shiny black croc concoctions by Alaïa and Chrome Hearts, respectively, or Chappell Roan and Natasha Lyonne, whose luscious auburn curls were giving a very similar vibe. A favorite two-for-one of yours truly was Doja Cat and Omar Apollo both wearing black tailoring with leopard ensembles at the bodice (in Marc Jacobs and Wales Bonner).

Both Tyson Beckford and Jon Kortajarena—the OG male model heartthrobs—displayed the power of a white dinner jacket, while Tyla and Quinta Brunson opted for white pinstriped dresses with an ’80s kind of glamour. Jerry Lorenzo and Desiree Manuel (in Fear of God) and Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz (in Moncler) gave us some charming matching couples’ style. Most iconic were the two musical legends, Madonna and Mary J. Blige, in very similar white satin power suits. Meanwhile, the award for best vintage look is shared by Jeremy Pope and Paloma Elsesser, who both wore tops from the legendary fall 1997 Margiela collection. Talk about a joint slay.
