As a rare planetary parade illuminated the evening sky, a few lucky guests here on Earth gathered to celebrate the NIGO Knows & Pharrell Knows Too sales, hosted through Williams’ digital auction house, Joopiter.

The celestial spectacle–six planets (which happened to include Jupiter) aligning in a luminous display–provided a fittingly magical backdrop to an intimate escape from the week’s shows. Held at Chef Matsuhisa Nobu’s Matsuhisa Paris, the event brought together industry peers and close friends for an evening of friendship and reflection.

“Nigo-san is the ultimate archivist. The first time I saw his archive in Tokyo years ago, it blew my mind… I’m very grateful we’re here in Paris together through Louis Vuitton and Joopiter. It’s a dream,” Williams said.

Guests, including Travis Scott, Takashi Murakami, Manny Jacinto, Pusha T, ASAP Nast, and Sarah Andelman, dined on black cod and sashimi while taking in a vast array of collaborative items and personal collections of the two designers.

First revealed within the set of the show (a world of intertwining Nigo-Pharell references unto itself), the auctions featured the latest in the duo’s collaborative output, as well as rare items from their venerable personal archives.

For Nigo, this involved the presentation of colorful Hermès bags, Beatles concert posters, and totems of previous collaborations, including Billionaire Boys Club merchandise. For Williams, items on display included rare watches, his Adidas x Pharrell Williams reflective short suit worn to the 2015 Grammy Awards, and a Chanel tennis racket.

“In some ways, this auction is a conversation from consumer to consumer. It’s an honor to be working together with Pharrell on this and so many other projects over the years and many more in the future,” Nigo shared.

Gift bags were a take-home extension of the hosts’ creative output, from a Joopiter T-shirt designed by artist Ochiai Shohei, a JOOPITER x POST ARCHIVE FACTION Baseball Cap, and top it off, a local flourish with a guide to Paris.
