Who better to share the best workout songs of 2022 than Amanda Kloots? Just find your way to the fitness instructor’s Instagram to see for yourself: In between being a mother, owning a business, and cohosting The Talk, Kloots somehow manages to find a way to get up every morning and hit the gym.

For those of us not as athletically inclined (read: me), it can be hard to imagine getting up bright and early in the freezing winter to sweat for an hour before dealing with the day’s incoming duties. For Kloots, it’s all about getting into the right mindset and putting on some good music to get up and start her day.

“Anytime I think about how I’m too tired or it’s too cold outside, or I just don’t want to get my outfit on or something,” the Dancing With the Stars alum tells Glamour, “I just think about how lucky we are to be able to move our body. It really is that simple. We are so lucky to be able to work out. It is not a chore, it is a privilege, and that is literally one of my mottos.”

To kick the new year into high gear, Kloots and Spotify teamed up on a custom playlist with the best workout songs. Clocking in at just under two hours, the pop-heavy playlist features some of the fitness instructor’s favorite songs, most of which she uses in her AK Fitness videos. Ranging from electro-dance beats to slow, romantic ballads, the Amanda Kloots AK! Dance playlist feels like a step in the right direction for a world that can often get so overwhelming with everyday life as we enter the second year in the pandemic. It’s not to say music can save all, but sometimes you just need a really good dance-party moment.

“I used to look at fitness as a means of losing weight or fitting into a certain-size clothing,” Koots says. “Over the last couple years, fitness has become more of like a therapy for me. It’s how I put a smile on my face every single day. I love that there’s a freedom in fitness.”
