When Beyoncé does things, she goes big—so you know her Christmas halftime show at the Texans-Ravens game is going to be good.

Beyoncé just causally dropped a promo for her performance and, naturally, it’s epic. Queen Bey can be seen sauntering up to a cactus decked out like a Christmas tree, while flashing her strong legs and cut abs in the coolest all-white outfit.

The 43-year-old has made it clear that wellness is important to her. So what’s in her diet, exactly? Here’s what she’s shared over the years.

She always eats breakfast.

Breakfast is a non-negotiable for the singer. “I always have breakfast—say, scrambled egg whites, a vegetable smoothie or whole-grain cereal with lowfat milk,” she previously told Shape, per Eating Well.

Beyoncé has also shared some delicious-looking meals on Instagram, including this yummy avocado toast creation:

She prioritizes water and ‘clean’ foods.

Beyoncé isn’t screwing around with hydration. She tries to drink at least a gallon of water a day, usually taking it with lemon, she told Shape.

The “Crazy In Love” singer takes her eating just as seriously. After her Renaissance World Tour in 2023, she told GQ she was “trying to focus on my health, taking my supplements, and eating very clean.”

“I’ve given up meat, except for turkey, this summer,” she added. “I’m trying to muster the strength to work out, but I just can’t do it today. Maybe tomorrow. Haaaa!”

That means that many of Beyoncé’s lunches and dinners involve “a lot of fish and vegetables,” per Shape.

She’s not vegan, but is plant-based.

There was a lot of chatter a few years ago about Beyoncé being vegan, and she and her husband Jay-Z were regularly seen in an out of vegan restaurants in New York. But Beyoncé later clarified to The New York Times that she’s not actually vegan—even though she endorses a vegan meal delivery service from 22 Days Nutrition, which she co-owns with Jay-Z and their trainer, Marco Borges.

“It’s important that you know I am not a vegan,” she previously told The Times.

Instead, Borges told the paper that Beyoncé eats a vegan breakfast “daily” and doesn’t have meat on Mondays.

She treats herself to her favorite meal on Sundays.

While Beyoncé is pretty regimented with her diet, a woman’s gotta live.

“I always treat myself to one meal on Sundays when I can have whatever I want,” she told Shape. “Usually it’s pizza, which is my favorite indulgence.”

She followed an intense diet for Coachella.

Beyoncé gave birth to her twins, Rumi and Sir, just eight months before her epic 2018 Coachella performance. And in her Netflix documentary Homecoming, she made it clear that she worked really hard to get in concert shape.

Beyoncé followed an extreme diet. That meant she had “no bread, no carbs, no sugar, no dairy, no meat, no fish, no alcohol,” she said. Borges later clarified that she was “100 precent plant-based” and followed their 22 Days Nutrition plan for 44 days.

But it wasn’t easy. “There were days that I thought I would never be the same…my strength and endurance would never be the same,” she said.

Beyoncé also noted that she might have taken things too far. “I definitely pushed myself further than I knew I could, and I learned a very valuable lesson,” she said in the doc. “I will never…never push myself that far again.”

But, of course, she delivered a stunning performance that people are still talking about to this day. Is it time for the halftime show yet?!
